General Questions
Felicite.com, established in 1999, is one of the oldest on-line gift registry networks. We provide a unique gift registry service that allows you to register gifts from any store, for any occasion. This way you can have one registry for all your gifts, and use the same registry year after year.
We are also one of the leading providers of private-label gift registry to merchants. Currently we have over one hundred member merchants using our gift registry technology. Our system is both powerful and affordable, and can be quickly implemented by both on-line and off-line merchants. Click here for more information
First, we are the only gift registry service that allows you to register any gift, from any store, for any occasion. This way you can have one registry for all your gifts, and you can use the same registry for all your gift-receiving occasions.
Second, we are the only gift registry service with the Partial Purchase feature, which we invented and patented. This feature allows gift givers to contribute any amount towards a gift. This way the cost of expensive gifts can be easily shared.
Third, we allow you to register cash gift such as a donation to charity or a honeymoon fund. All contributions are credited to your account and when you are ready we'll send you a check. You can also designate regular gifts as cash gift. (For some a Cash Gift is also environmentally friendly, for example registrant can buy gift locally rather than having it shipped from a distance.)
Felicite.com acts as an independent gift registry service. Once your registry is set up, we'll create a personalized web site that your friends can visit, look at the gift list, and make a purchase. We'll collect and consolidate payments, update the gift list and then send your order to the appropriate merchant for delivery. If we are unable to order a gift, we'll issue a cash refund and you can order it yourself when it becomes available, or buy a different gift. Yes, while there are certain advantages to registering gifts from our Member Merchants - For example, they have all installed "Add to Registry" buttons on their web site to make it easier for you to add gifts; and have agreed to accept orders from us automatically, which means your orders reach them much faster - you are not limited to our Member Merchants. -back to top contact us
You can register gifts from Non-Member Merchant (aka Approved Merchants) by using our convenient gift form. Just specify the Gift Name, Gift Price, and Merchant Name. When we get the order we'll phone them up and place your order for you. -back to top contact us
Please note however, that we are very picky about who we send orders to, and only send orders to Merchants ("Approved Merchants") who have passed our rigorous customer service standards. Therefore when you use the manual gift form to add a gift you'll only see Approved Merchants in the Merchant Name Drop Down Box. However, you can still register gifts from any merchant you like by selecting "Cash Gifts" as the merchant. With cash gift we credit all contributions to your account, and when you are ready, just click on the "Settle Registry" button and we'll send you a check. Currently registration is free. We keep our costs low through automation, and make money primarily from merchant commissions and product discounts. On cash gift there are no commissions so we charge gift givers a 4.9% transaction fee to cover our costs. -back to top contact us

This was a difficult business decision with both a cost and a quality component. First, we would prefer not to have to charge you an upfront fee for using felicite.com and maintaining a 24 hour telephone support desk is expensive. Second, we feel that by making you read the FAQ and/or answering your questions in writing we can provide more consistent answers. It depends. If Merchant X is a member merchant, then they will be able to update your registry.
If Merchant X is not a member merchant then their registry is separate and independent from ours and will not update. If they are interested in being a member of our gift registry network please ask them to contact us using the "Contact Us" page.

Registration
You may register by filling out this short on-line form or by visiting the store or website of our Member Merchants. -back to top contact us
At any time you may close your registry by clicking the Close Registry button within your registry account; your gift givers will no longer be able to find you on Felicite. Felicite will automatically close and delete your registry if there is no activity within one year of signing up. If you wish to keep your registry active simply login to your account within one year of signing up. If for any reason, we are unable to order the gift, or if the order is rejected by the merchant, then we'll issue a cash refund to your account. When you are ready, click on the "Settle Registry" button and we'll send you a check. If it's more convenient, we can also cancel the transaction and issue a refund to the gift giver's credit card. Just email us and let us know. Cash refunds include only the gift price and not the shipping. One problem with traditional registries is that the lower priced gifts tend to sell out first. So if someone comes to the registry late, they may not find anything within their budget. With the Partial Purchase feature, gift givers will always find something within their budget because they can make a partial contribution towards any gift. -back to top contact us
Sometimes you would rather get one large gift rather than several small gifts. However, the average gift giver spends only $50 each. The Partial Purchase feature allows you to register an expensive gift and have your friends share the cost. -back to top contact us
Partial Purchase also makes group gifts easier. Your friends no longer have to formally organize a group, figure out each person's contribution, collect funds and appoint someone to make the purchase. With Partial Purchase, each person can just log on and contribute an amount that they are comfortable with. Our system will keep track of the contributions and update the balance. Once the full amount has been paid, we'll send the order to the appropriate merchant. -back to top contact us
If a physical gift is not fully paid for, you can: (1) wait for more gift givers, (2) make up the difference yourself , or (3) contact us and ask us to stop collecting money for the gift. Use the Contact Us form within your registry to tell us to stop collecting money for a physical gift. If you plan to maintain separate gift registries you might consider selecting the "Hold Gift" option to minimize the duplicate gift problem. -back to top contact us
If you check the "Hold Gift" option when you register a gift, then we will not order the gift until we hear from you. This option is useful if you are worried about duplicate gifts or need more time to decide on a gift. As long as you let us know before we send the order to the merchant, we can cancel the gift and issue a cash refund to your account. -back to top contact us
Once a gift has been ordered, you'll have to deal with the merchant on returns and are subject to their return policy. -back to top contact us

If you don't check the "Hold Gift" option then your gift will be ordered in accordance to our normal procedures, which is (1) for Member Merchants, gift orders are automatically sent to the merchant; and (2) for Non-Member Merchant (aka Approved Merchants), gift orders are manually processed one to two weeks before the event. Yes, we accept non-US credit cards, provided they pass our credit checking process. All charges are in US Dollars, and will be converted into the local currency by the credit card company. -back to top contact us

Adding Gifts
You can add gifts by visiting one of our Member Merchants and clicking on the "Add to Registry" button. Member Merchants are listed in Green in our Merchant Directory

To add a gift from a Non-Member Merchant (aka Aprroved Merchant) just use the Gift Form located in the "Gift List" section of your registry. Be sure to specify the Gift Name, the Gift Price, and select a Merchant from the list of approved Merchants. -back to top contact us

To add a Cash Gift, just use the Gift Form and select "Cash Gift" as the Merchant Name. With Cash Gifts all contributions are credited to your account. When you are ready, click on the "Settle Registry" button and we'll send you a check for the cash balance of your account. -back to top contact us
For privacy considerations we do not go into details as to why a particular merchant is not on the list. We do have minimum customer service and reliability requirements. It's possible that a merchant has not yet submitted an application to be listed. -back to top contact us

The gifts are listed in alphabetical order. So if you want a gift to appear first, just add a 1 to the name. For example, "1 - Toaster". You will only be able to do this with items that are manually added via the Gift List form. Names of Items from Member Merchant Store cannot be modified. -back to top contact us
You may also assign a category to a gift and it will be listed within the category. Custom categories can be created from the Gift Form. -back to top contact us
Just enter the retail price. Our system will calculate the regular shipping and taxes.
To add a cash gift like a honeymoon fund or a donation to charity, use our on-line form located in the "Gift List" Section and select "Cash Gift" as the merchant name. -back to top contact us
Regular gifts can also be registered as Cash Gifts. This is useful if you prefer to pick up the gift yourself locally or if you need more time to decide on the color or pattern. With electronic gifts or computers it is sometimes useful to pick it up yourself since you can get the latest model this way. -back to top contact us
Cash gifts can either have a specific price or be open ended. An opened ended cash gift doesn't have a specific price and therefore does not have a limit to how much can be collected. It is usually used for a fund such as a honeymoon fund or charity fund. To register an open ended cash gift just enter zero for the price. -back to top contact us
With cash gift we will credit the contribution to your account. When you are ready for us to send you a check, just click the "Settle Registry" button. -back to top contact us
No, there is no charge to you. To cover our cost, gift givers are charged a 4.9% transaction fee when they make a contribution. For example, if a gift giver contributes $50 to your honeymoon fund, they will be charged $52.45 and $50 will be credited to your account. -back to top contact us

Some customers scan in a picture from a catalog (digital or web cams work as well) and load it into their photo album. -back to top contact us

Giving Gifts

- Registry Cards. You can include a registry card with your invitation or announcement. Here is PDF Template that you can use to print out registry cards. Some Member Merchants also provide their own registry cards. -back to top contact us
- Direct Link. You can email the direct link to your registry to friends. Some customers print the direct link on the invitation or announcement. -back to top contact us
- E-Notification System. You can use our E-Notification system to send an email to your friends about your registry. -back to top contact us
- RSVP system. Use our on-line RSVP system and when friends RSVP they are already on the registry -back to top contact us
- Photo Album. Add some pictures to the photo album and invite friends to visit. When they are in the photo album they are only one click away from your gift list. -back to top contact us

Gift givers can access your registry by entering your name in the "Search for Registry" box located on our web site at www.Felicite.com and on most of our Member Merchants Web sites. -back to top contact us

Some of our Member Merchants also allow gift givers to visit the store to make a purchase. If you registered through one of our Member Merchants you might want to check with them to see if this is an option. -back to top contact us
The Gift Giver pays for shipping and taxes at the time they make a purchase. -back to top contact us
When a Partial Purchase is made, gift givers pay the shipping in accordance with the size of their contributions. For example, if they contribute half of the cost of the gift then they pay for half the shipping. -back to top contact us
Shipping varies depending on the merchant, the type of product and where the gift is being shipped, and includes all direct costs associated with the processing of your order, i.e. postage, sales tax, and any applicable credit or merchant fees. Where we do not have an explicit agreement with the merchant over shipping charges, the shipping is based upon our past experience with sending orders to the merchant. -back to top contact us
They may call our toll-free number and place an order over the phone. You can find the toll-free number in your welcome letter and on the home page of your registry. We also accept orders by fax machine or by mail. -back to top contact us
Whether gifts can be shipped to the gift giver depends on the merchant and the type of gift. Merchants for whom the ship to gift giver option is available are listed here and marked in green in the Merchant Directory. If the ship to gift giver option is available then at check out, the gift giver will see a place where they may enter an alternative address. If they do not see ship-to option at check out then the ship to gift giver option is not available. -back to top contact us
In general, the ship to gift giver option is available for merchants with whom we have an explicit agreement to offer the ship to gift giver option (i.e., Member Merchants)
Ordering Gifts
If the gift is from one of our Member Merchants then the order will automatically be sent to the merchant as soon as it is purchased. If the gift is from a Non-Member Merchant (aka Approved Merchants) then we generally wait until one or two weeks before the event before we start ordering. If you would like us to order the gift sooner, please email us. One email is sufficient. You don't have to send a separate email for each gift. -back to top contact us

If we have already sent the order to the merchant, then you'll have to deal with the merchant on returns, and are subject to their return policies. Some merchants may restrict returns to in-store credit or charge a re-stocking fee. -back to top contact us

Most merchants include return instructions with the package. If you cannot find it, contact them directly for instructions. -back to top contact us
Gift returns are handled the same way as if the gift giver bought you the gift directly. You should contact the merchant and find out what their policy is on gift returns. You may settle your registry as many times as you like. We give you two free checks during any 12 month period. After that we charge a $10 per check fee to cover postage and printing costs.

Yes, we provide a number of direct links to different parts of your registry. You can email or insert these links into your personal web page to make it easier to access your registry.
